Thumbs up for the Gun Room in Winder

I have gotten a couple of really good deals on used guns there. I swung by there yesterday with a friend who was trying to order a quadrail for an AR he bought. They spent a good twenty minutes with him looking at various websites trying to find him an accesory for a gun he didn't buy there. It's hard to find that at a big box store of any type.

Had a friend of mine go into acadamey and buy some .45 ammo. When he got home, he found that he had .45 colt and needed .45acp. He went back to acadamey and they would not let him exchange it, said it was copany policy. They will not EVER see a penny of mine and they are close to me. Bad service gets NO service. EVER

Sounds like your friend may be a candidate for a Darwin award. How do you not notice you are paying for the wrong thing?

yeah, sorry, but that one is kind of your friends fault.

and for the other post about supporting small buisness, and paying more for service, i agree with you and i do pay more for better service as well. BUT over $50 dollars more is out of the question.

I like the Gun Room, father/son op and they take care of me when I need it. That is where I found that DPMS AR for $525 last week

most places will not exchange out ammo once you have left with it. and this is a prime example of why you should pay attention to what you are buying. a box of LC is about twice as thick as a box of acp

Ive yet to come across any store that allows you to return ammo.

Academy is not a major competitor, both stores cater to a different clientele. If you want cheap discount prices it usually comes with crappy service. I'd never buy a gun from Walmart, Academy, or Bass Pro. Something that doesn't sit real well with me is after buying a gun at any of those big box stores you have to escorted to the front and out the door.

People (unlike you I suppose) will gladly pay a higher price to get better service and to support a local gun store. That $80 is well worth it to me and lots of other folks............sorry you don't see it that way.

I'd rather save money and not have to deal with your typical gun shop staff.
