TULA AMMO

What's you're thoughts on Tula ammo, good, bad, or what.....

It's cheap and usually goes bang, though not much cheaper than brass lately. As mentioned some of the powder they use can be pretty rank. If your gun likes it, it's fine for plinking.

Dirty and not as reliable as most brass ammo. Nothing wrong with it for training use.

When a brass casing round is fired, the brass expands to fit and fill the chamber, then shrinks back down a bit. Steel casings will not do this, too stiff and strong. This allows burnt powder to flow back into the chamber and foul things up more than usual.

I see more dud primers in Russian steel case ammo than I do in most brass case ammo, so I don't recommend it for defensive use.

it is good for range use. used it plenty. have had more no bangs with it than any other ammo. But for the price good for plinking. IT is dirty make sure to clean your gun after running any steel ammo

Tula 8M3 124 grain 7.62x39 is an excellent self defense round for AK usage. If I was loading my AK for self defense it would be my choice over any other current round, brass or steel. For AK range work, any steel cased communist ammo will do as far as I am concerned.

If you are talking 5.56, Federal XM193 or Winchester Q3131 is cheap enough for me for range work. I never bother with steel cased ammo for AR work.
