Visiting Germany in August - Advice

Are you staying in a nicer small hotel? I've found them to be comfortable even if the rooms are smallish. If they have a breakfast plan on spending an hour. Where I was staying they actually served with real silver coffee pots and utensils. It was very posh. Food was fantastic.

2 weeks!

My advice is to not eat anything a week before you go.
That way, all the beer and schnitzel you will consume will only cause to go one pants size larger when you get home.

Seriously, Germany is a great place to visit....beer...food...history....did I mention Beer! Beer so good you will turn your nose up at American beer for a while when you get back.

Have a great time.

First place we stopped there (little country inn) I ordered a beer. My wife ordered a coke. She loves coke. Preferably a fountain Coke with lots of ice.

They brought me out a huge frosty stein of beer. They brought her a six oz glass of warm Coke.
Mine cost half of what hers did. I thought she was gonna cry!

Me, with a big grin on my face says "When in Rome..."

She didn't think it was funny. She asked for ice. They brought her two small cubes. Lol.

Yep. It was the damndest thing. Modern country, engineering geniuses, but they couldn't make ice?
Very strange to me too. I noticed many drive very fine made Bavarian cars, expensive cars, with no air conditioning. I guess the Germans don't like "the cold". LOL. All's well, they probably tell "strange stories" upon their return from America too.
