Some of the prices on new rifles belong in an insane asylum.
Supply and demand, pretty basic. When they were readily available they were cheap, now they have dried up the price went up. I could kick myself a hundred times for not buying "that cheap import rifle" several years ago. Eventually they all dry up and the price goes through the roof.

I have no problem paying $1,300 for the one I just bought . Find me another in that configuration for less . You won’t .

My military classic showed up today. If you buy one get the metal trigger add on. Most times the triggers on these suck. They did a stupid good job on this one.
By far the best pull I’ve felt on one to date . A nice smooth oh crap it went off 3-1/2 - 4 pounds

I owned a few Century's and thought they were excellent rifles for the money.
