Loading a couple thousand rounds of midrange wadcutters and ran out of clean Starline brass, so I switched to PPU. Never had a primer "bench pop" on the 1050 (or 650 for that matter). The way it primes it's highly unlikely to set the magazine off, but the noise and smell will make you poop your pants a little.

Just had another weak primer cup tear out rather than punch completely out. I'm ditching this brass.

Could be the spent primers are the problem, rather than the brass. Got a hand-depriming tool?

In all seriousness, I can see how that would be a poop producing moment. Reloading is fun!

It is the spent primers. Sometimes when you wet/stainless pin tumble primed brass, the cups become fused with the primer pocket walls. I've seen it before, just haven't had an issue with Starline/Winchester primers before. This PPU is out. No time to hand decap.

And this is why I dont reload. I would either give myself a heart attack or manage to put myself into low earth orbit....
