Way too early... Deer Rifle 2016-17 thread.

Most hunting will be done with my Marlin 45-70. 1.75-4X32 scope.
Slinging my Thumpers a 300gr Penn LRNFP @ 2080fps.

For longer range work I hope to pick one off with the DSA FAL, sporting a 2.5-8x36.
Its grouping factory Winchester 150 gr soft points under 2moa so unless I magically endup with time to develop a load before opening day I will most likely just roll with that.

I'm going a little short like I did the last 3 years. 8.5" 300 blackout slinging 110 grain VOR-TX. If I find anywhere to hunt over 100 yards then I'll be sporting the 30-06.
