What gun you grabbing when you hear a bump in the night

Actually, speaking of hearing protection, if cost were no object, I think the ideal home defense weapon would be a short barreled rifle with a silencer.
(Or an AR pattern "pistol" with an arm stabilization brace that fits you perfectly as a shoulder stock).
Maybe one of those "Just Right Carbines" in 45 ACP, which uses Glock magazines, with the barrel cut down to about 8 inches, and then having a rather short 6-inch .45 caliber suppressor on the end of that.

(P.S. -- I specified .45 acp because it's going to be subsonic even from a carbine length barrel if you stick to 200 -230 grain bullets.)
Well we just returned from Orlando for the week. Our first night in the hotel I heard a scratch at the door and then a bump. I immediately grabbed my 43. Turned out to be local pizza place skidding flyers through the crack of the door. I looked through the peep and couldn't see anyone. Once I realized it was a pizza guy I opened the door and explained to him his actions were dangerous. I then called the front desk who says they run them off all the time. All this said going out was dangerous and dumb.
At home my bump gun is my 19.

I grab my 9mm. And a taco.
Depending where I’m at, either a Remington 11-87 or Remington v3 TAC 13. If I’m in the living room, then the Judge with .410 home defense.
