I had an Astro van back in the early 90's....put many miles on it in Atlanta....I think of that, when I think of driving in Atlanta.....
Buddy got a tesla for 18k had to go to savannah to get it but good miles/hrs. Runs like a top. Dont fudd out, do your due diligence, and you'll be happy.
I would worry less about a transmission and more about a safety rating and gas mileage. Find something that gets at least 25 miles/gal and a five star rating, with low overall maintenance. That leaves you in the world of ToyotaWhat newish vehicle would you buy if you suddenly had a new job that required an 85 mile round trip commute 3 or 4 days a week in Atl traffic? Nothing with a CVT tranny and would like to stay under $18-$20k and less than 70,000 miles on it. I was eyeballing Chevy Malibus but see GM went to a CVT tranny in 2019. I have not kept up with the latest junk that’s been pushed out the door the last 4 or 5 years so I don’t really know where to start.
Yep. He drives 40 miles one way. Got 5he basic model. Made me rethink lol. Was an 18 or something like that. I can double check.Did he install a charger at home or just use one elsewhere?

Absolutely a Camry. New or old.GM car transmissions have been weak for a long time. I'd be shopping for a 5-10 year-old Toyota Camry or Corolla.
