What was your first car?...What happened to your first car?

Because many of them shipped with 2 barrel carbs, in boats. I had a 78 Regal with a factory Chevy 4 barrel 305, it liked to move. You knew when the 4 barrel opened up, and that was after the needle was pegged at 85.

Also, that 78 Regal was my first car. Given to me by my Grandfather, I turned the odometer over several times. My father ended up driving it to work years later and turned it over again. It went to the scrap yard in pieces when the uni-body started to fall apart.
Okay now I'm interested. So I just need an 80s vintage 305 with the right intake for a Holley or Demon carb around say 650 CFM maybe? Then I need a Chevette or a Monza to stick it in. Probably be easier to find a 2WD Blazer though.

1970 SS Chevelle. This was one of the oddest chevelles I ever owned. It came from the factory with electric windows and seats. I never saw another chevelle that had those options from the factory. The old car was silver with black stripes, and came from with a 396. Ray
nice and rare!!!

Okay, question; Why do Chevy/GM guys hate the 305 so much? I'm not a GM fan but this question has always been on my mind. When I ask most Chevy guys why they don't build a 305 the universal answer has always been. " Cause a 350 fits in the same hole." And I know there was something about the heads and something else I can't recall. But it seems to me that there must be boatloads of unloved 305s to be had out there. Now I just need to find one and a Chevette to stick it in.
small chamber heads great to boost up compression on a mild build 350...cubes baby cubes...you can stick a 400 crank and rods in it and have 330 inch and still under powered ...305s last for ever due to slowwwww
