whats the secret to shooting this?

LOL I grabbed the high brass figuring it would be somewhat like buckshot out of it. The last time my wrist stung like that was years ago when I was developing some super hot 44 loads. It took a few more of them to bite.
5'8" 250 already. That's big enough. trust me I've never been accused of being limp wristed!

You may have a nugget of truth there. I figured the 24 year old was just to inexperienced to realize you can shoot a shotgun without pain! An as an old man I knew it shouldn't hurt to shoot!
Just looked at those on the net. For $50 I may have to go that way. Have you shot it with it on? Stock seem solid enough?
I have not shot it with this stock yet. I will tomorrow and I'll let you know how it goes. Ooh! If I remember right I still have the original Mossberg stock in the box downstairs. I'll look and see tomorrow and let you know that too. I'm stuck at work till 11 tonight so can't check till tomorrow AM. I'll be way too lazy at 11:30 tonight.

I had an ATI top folder on a Maverick 88 I had years ago. It still wasn't pleasant to shoot, to be honest, but it wasn't as brutal as with just the pistol grip. Maybe I am getting older, but I'm really considering getting one of those recoil reducing Knoxx or whatever brand that is for the 88 I currently have.
