Which new truck? f150 or ram?

who ever said ford has the biggest back seat on crew model is crazy. The dodge crew not the quad has the largest room, and they even offer a mega cab that is even bigger....

The tundra crew has a larger back seat then ford too

I have an '04 Ram Quad Cab and an '04 E350 Super Duty Van. The Ram has 82k on it and mechanically has been fine with the exception of being in a wreck a few years ago. I've had all sorts of problems crop up in the front end since then. The HEMI is a strong engine that is normally aspirated which is a good selling point in my book. I've yet to have any transmission problems.

My van has 192k on it and they have all been hard miles. It get frustrated working on it or taking it to the shop as it's expensive to work on as it's a 1 ton. The 5.4L is under powered for the weight rating of the vehicle (almost 10k) in my opinion. On the other hand, it has almost 200k miles on it.

I don't intend to sell my Dodge or replace it any time soon. If I have my way I'll drive it till the wheels fall off and then get some new wheels. I'll consider myself fortunate to get another 50k out of my van.

If I had to buy another I'd go with a Ford but I don't want or care for their EcoBoost motors. I'd seriously consider upgrading to a 3/4 ton. I doubt I'll ever buy another new one either. As Ken Ford said, Ford didn't take the bailout.

Here's a couple y'all missed:

Check Consumer Reports for transmission reliability. My experience with Chrysler products is poor, very poor, in that regard.

from someone that just spent the last year looking at used trucks, I would say go with the ford all day long.
1) resale on a ford is higher than the rest
2) of all the Crew cabs For has the biggest back seat area, ( if you ever have friends traveling with you )

I finally bought a Used 2010 F150 Platinum with 140k on it. Price was right compared to everything i looked at with the options on this things.
Don't regret it at all and I came from driving Chevrolet all my life.

The back seat on a Tundra is nearly twice the size as any other truck.

back door on the Tundra is 48 inches long.

Id steer clear of the ecoboost till its been out a few years & proven.
remember Fords 6.0 diesel???

What if the ecoboost is the same disaster?

theres plusses and minuses to all of em.

I worked at an jobsite a few months ago and we rented pickups, had a Ford, a Dodge and 3 Chevys,
the new chevy has the door handle down by your ankle, the Dodge rode much smoother than either the Ford or Chevy.
