Which new truck? f150 or ram?

I've looked more into the ecoboost problems and I'm not sure if I would want to chance it. The 5.0 seems like a great engine and compares to tee hemi. Akins ford in winder has some great deals right now online. I think I can get a supercrew cab with a 5.0 for close to 25k, same for the hemi ram. I'm leaning towards the ford now but every one of their engines in the truck line up are new, which makes me nervous.

And to the diesel guys, I drive an 08 dodge with a 6.7 Cummins and all emissions deleted and a tuner every single day at work. It pulls great, runs great, and I would love to have it. I just can't afford one right now. I don't pull enough to justify maintenance costs and initial cost. I'm getting married later this year and will be starting a family soon and dumping that much money into a truck just isn't responsible.

Go drive a Ram and the F150 before you sign the line. The Ram is so much better, you get more for the your $ too.

Most people are at a stand still on making large purchase items such as homes, vehicles because of the way the economy is going and the what if's....

Obama has people holding out

I bought a brand new ram 2012 and loved it, drove 7k miles and sold it and bought me a cheap vehicle to cut debt and to hold on to my money just in case...times are getting weird and I don't know what to expect right now.But for my family I rather have my money and hold on to it.

I would have previously said ford f150 - I'm a guy from a ford family and have z-plan discounting...but, I have heard a lot of bad things about the ecoboost. I would look for a cpo f150 before the ecoboost engine was standard.

It's gonna be hard to make up your money in mpg's when you're constantly repairing your engine.

Whatever you buy I hope your paying cash...And getting it because you need it and not trying to keep up with the Joneses.

New means warranty to me ...I hope that's the case..I like both so I guess it would boil down to the details and reliability history.

Truthfully my next truck will prob be a Titan or Tundra.

After 2 stone cold redneck Chevy driving friends of mine crossed over to import Pickup makes me wonder..Dad is in his late 70 and son 30s..

I have never and will never buy a brand new vehicle, too much deprecation, in 4 years it wont be worth 1/2 what it cost new.,

Ive even bought a 2 year old truck for exactly 1/2 of what it cost new...

lots of stealerships are advertising $10K off the sticker, so apparently that how much they were overcharging when the economy was good.

No such thing as a Foreign truck, every pickup sold in the US is built in the US, there are no imported pickups anymore, doesnt matter what brand.
and the profit doesnt go to Japan or Detroit or Italy or whereever. the profit (if there is any after the UAW and the CEO get their billions) goes to the stockholders, who can and do live anywhere in the world.

My personal vehicle is a 04 Expedition, my daily driver is a employer provided 2012 Tundra, and man, I gotta tell ya, the 398 HP 5.7 engine is suuhweet. makes about double the power of the 5.4 in the Ford, even though its only 20 cubic inches larger. Uses less gas too.
