For me, the mini has a far more solid, predictable feel without the sloppiness I've felt in (some) AKs. Personally, I went with an AR 7.62x39 build to avoid supporting another platform. Maybe you should go the ODT route. Get both!

Yeah what he said. Seriously I've never owned a Mini. I like the traditional wood and steel but I'd still be in the AK column. As has already been mentioned the aftermarket supports the AK platform a lot more than the Mini14/30. One of the only reasons I wouldn't consider a Mini ( unless it was a damn good deal) is the mags. They're expensive compared to AK or AR mags. And some of the aftermarket mags for Minis supposedly suck really bad as in Promags. So you would probably need to stick with Ruger factory mags which would get expensive quickly. So all things considered... AKs for life!Ak. All damn day.

So I am deciding between a mini 30 and an ak47. I am coming here for opinions on which you would rather have and why.
