Which would you rather have and why?

A true American buys American. I have repaired AK47's and they are just cheap. They look cheap and they feel cheap. I just can't get over the whole stamped steel construction. I mean you can heat treat a file cabinet and make a AK out of it. AK's do have a track record and that includes a 4 inch MOA. Try hitting something at 300 yards with that. I know opinions are like a** holes everybody has one but a toilet paper roll is reliable but that doesn't mean I have to have a gun safe full of them. The fact the guy that created the gun was a Russian should be reason enough not to own one. We have a lot of traitors on this forum. I guess the Democrats will win the election again this year. LOL OH I almost forgot I would go with the Mini 30 but don't get me started on the cartridge good Lawd!:pop2:

Have the mini 30 stainless ranch rifle bought new a few years ago latest series with the thicker barrel. Shoots beautifully however I do not run the berdan primer steel cased ammo through it, I know others have not had issue doing so but from everything I read ruger doesn't recommend it due to firing pin and when I inquired about just getting another firing pin I was told it has to be milled to the receiver and you have to send the rifle back to ruger. So I run quality brass/boxer primted ammo which I find online at about 10-12 a box of 20 (about the same as 5.56) The look, feel, action, and everything about the Mini 30 feels like quality and every time I pick up an AK and think about buying one it just feels cheap to me the receiver and everything. I have shot the AK and it shoots nice but the looks and feel of the rifle just are not for me.

So for classic m14 smooth butter action and american asthetics, good for hunting, range time, I say go mini 30. If you want to run low cost steel cased ammo then go with the AK.

I'm not up to speed on the AK platform but from what I've read the Arsenal's are supposed to be top notch and that's probably what I would buy if I ever get one.

Or do an mpx 9mm total blast to shoot and I'm not just a fanboy I'm an addict! Even more so since I got the Sig Romeo4b circle dot this week! (Bullseye lville $269 in stock now!)

How many humans do you know that are less than 4 inches wide?they aren't made to be a sniper rifle they're made to hit the target and hurt someone and put them on the ground..

AK's will easily hit steel at 300 yards and this has been proven many times, so that argument is outdated and invalid. You must be an AR fan boy.

If there were even 1/10th as many Mini 30's out there as there are AK's, I'll bet you would be repairing way more of them. As for me, I've owned the Mini's and AK's and there is no comparison to the reliability. AK's will leave the Minis in the dust. This is no contest so the mere fact that we're even talking about it is a little bit confusing, if not annoying.

I have owned and shot Mini 14's and 30's since the 90's and they are fun to shoot, but I have found them to be pretty unreliable and very overrated. And they're not exactly what I would call precision rifles, either...The cost of mags is outrageous. If you buy aftermarket mags, do not expect them to work. No, the mags must say Ruger on them and they are very proud of them.

I do not own any Ruger Mini 14's or 30's anymore, and do not plan to ever own them again.
