Which would you rather have and why?

A true American buys American. I have repaired AK47's and they are just cheap. They look cheap and they feel cheap. I just can't get over the whole stamped steel construction. I mean you can heat treat a file cabinet and make a AK out of it. AK's do have a track record and that includes a 4 inch MOA. Try hitting something at 300 yards with that. I know opinions are like a** holes everybody has one but a toilet paper roll is reliable but that doesn't mean I have to have a gun safe full of them. The fact the guy that created the gun was a Russian should be reason enough not to own one. We have a lot of traitors on this forum. I guess the Democrats will win the election again this year. LOL OH I almost forgot I would go with the Mini 30 but don't get me started on the cartridge good Lawd!:pop2:

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I had a friend that bought an AK and had nothing but problems with it so I better never buy one! ;) Jus sayin'... Ima have both here soon the mini and a C39V2...
Keep an eye on the bolt and bolt carrier in that C39V2. The Century American made AKs are kinda hit and miss. Some are good, some not so much. Their barrels are very accurate though.
I also said in my post that I know my friend's case wasn't typical. But what I didn't say is that I'd never buy one. His turned out to be a reconditioned rifle that had been returned in the past and then sent back out as a new rifle. I'm sure that was just an honest mistake and at the end of the day, Ruger made it right. And I also have nothing against Ruger products. I own several of them. A #1 rifle I hunt deer with, a 10/22, and a GP100 .357 I bought just this past week.

Grr... Here I figured the Century would be pretty decent and I like the milled receiver, doing research on AK's trying to get a mid ranged one without spending over 1000 on an arsenal is nuts... What should I look out for with the bolt and bolt carrier?

Okay, I googled it... there went AK reliability with the century and it looks like just interchanging parts with any AK isn't an option either.

I have both ,a mini-30 ranch and a Century RAS47 , I have had the mini for several years. it will be with me when SHTF. I sent the trigger group to "GUN DOC" and had a good trigger job done and I have a Nikon Prostaf scope on it. I just got the Ak 2 or 3 months ago to play with. I like both but the Mini is the keeper!

Watch for premature excessive wear on the locking lugs on the bolt. Also watch for wear in the channel on the bolt carrier that the lug from the bolt rides in. Also look for excessive wear on the bolt carrier tail where it strike the hammer on its backward stroke. If a Tapco G2 FCG is in the rifle, it will probably beat the tail on the bolt carrier up pretty badly. It probably has something to do with improper heat treating, but I'm no expert on the subject. Hopefully you'll be lucky and get one of the good ones.
