Why Are Guys Buying 10 Rd AK, AR And Pistol Mags?

If you ever try shooting from a bench with a 30 round mag you will know the answer. Not to mention that for deer hunting, 10 rounds is more than enough. If I expected to get into a sounder of hogs I might use a larger mag but even then, 10 should be plenty.
As far as being sold out everywhere, at least with pistol mags it is likely due to the fact that they could not find the larger mags so then they went on to the smaller capacity mags till they were sold out too.

I have a 10 round mag that came with my AK and have used it bench shooting, but was wondering as to why the run on 10 round mags at this time.

Dont forget, as long as your 30rd mag identifies as a 10 round you're gtg

I have a few military 10 rd mags, bought them a few years ago in bulk. $4 each. I got them for training purposes.

The 10rnd mags are good for bench shooting, or training purposes. I have a few for the range days. It helps in limiting the ammo usage.

I used 10 rounders for the same reason.

Easier for bench work.

Hunting - no need to carry the weight of 10 extra rounds around.

Mag fits in a pocket when unloaded from the gun.
