Why I'm over Ar15s and all the hype.

I carried an M1 Garand until I went to Germany in 63, then they issued us M14's, heavy as hell but powerful, Nam in 67 as Platoon Sergeant got the XM177, a little more reliable than the rifle length M16, but still prone to jams. Still love the old Garands, Just something about 8 BOOMS and a "ping":thumb:

I had an ar15 when I was in high school like most people I decked it out and threw as much stuff on it as I could. Yeah I shot it a bunch but overall it never really impressed me and after dealing with army M16s I got rid of it I was over the platform and all the hype it had. It's no doubt a good and accurate rifle but like a baker around bread we spent so much time together I was done. Anyone else had some similar expirence?
No, all weapons are tools to me and if you take care of your tools they will take care of you. I never put a bunch of shyt on a AR platform. I keep them simple and lightweight. I did have a m4 fail me once but it was user error and I should have been cleaning the dust off my brass. I have not lost my interest in the platform. It is just another useful tool to me.

Stop your affairs with weapons and start seeing them for what they are. Software > hardware.
