Man I would love to. I would look for a IHC with a NICE AND I MEAN NICE barrel and Stock. TIGHT measurements Like 2 or less on the throat and 1 or less on the muzzle. Then shoot the piss out of it.
Will they loan me a gauge?

YES! AND It will be on the hang tag.
You can ask them to gauge it at the desk. Many times it will be 1/2 less than marked.

Would be glad to if I had the time. I used to be an "Agent" and would hand carry an out of state buyer's paperwork then pick a rifle and it would be shipped to the buyer.
I'd ask them to cover my gas for the trip, so I got a free trip to the CMP!
They did away with "Agents" after some people complained that it wasn't FAIR and a few got into a ruckus during the last IHC release. Must have helped about a dozen collectors.
