Our home was built in 2006. Looks like it is going to be our final resting place. We are 61 and 58 years old so, we do plan to be around for a good many more years.

We have several window panes that have lost there seal. The windows seam to be of good quality.

Does it make sense, and is it cost effective to call in someone to replace just the glass that has fogged. Or is that throwing good money after bad?

Any suggestions on quality replacement windows?

If it is a few windows and the trim siding and windows are in good shape and the price is lower its a good option for most people, however if your staying and happy with existing windows it is usually a no brainer even if its more because you can focus on the few windows that are compromised. Glass replacement is usually cheapest when you can take the windows out yourself and deliver them to a shop like Brian Diamond Glass or B&D if you go for replacement call Jody at NV 678 296 3253

If the pane is built to come apart, it's easy to replace glass. There'll be screws that hold it together. A good cordless drill is all you need. Unscrew the bottom piece, slide glass out. Slide new glass in and reinstall bottom piece. Simple as that. Take window completely out of frame to replace glass. You may have to wiggle old glass out, but no big deal

Replacement windows with fiberglass frames are great, but the ones made with vinyl frames are pretty terrible. Glass replacement is a decent option if you can find a skilled individual with experience, and if your existing windows are designed where the glass can be replaced.

If it was built in 2006 and they're marked with a brand, you might check; some windows have a "lifetime" warranty.

We dropped some coin on all new replacement windows by Anderson Windows in 2016. At the time we were renovating our forever home. The home was built in the 60’s so they were single pane. The windows came with lifetime warranty. It helped immensely with sound and cold air around the openings. Since install…I’ve knocked out one pane ( lawn mower ) and one frame was damaged when the window cleaners shoved the sash back in the wrong way, and damaged one screen (lawn mower again). All were repaired / replaced at no charge. Can’t say enough good about them…

I have a glass business in Jackson county. I grew up in the business also so I've pretty much seen it all. I can give you my best advice. I will need to see a few pictures though. Usually glass only replacement is around 250 dollars per window. Full window replacement is quite a bit more depending on the style and accessibility.
