I need to apologize and correct the scenario. He was chased because there had beed a "suspected robbery", whatever that means. The article does not say that he was either convicted of or even charged with a robbery, but the original event leading to the. Chase was tge "suspected robbery ". Also along with the knife, he was in possession of an "immitation firearm".

The knife was a 12" hunting knife, about which the article says "It was stated by the PC that the suspect brandished "the largest knife" he had ever seen...". I've cut steaks with knives that length in restaurants.

The "stab wound " the PC received was a 1 centimeter cut, received while deflecting a cut from the dog. Realy? 1 WHOLE centimeter? OMG! Why that's ALMOST 10 MILLIMETERS! lol

Kid was in the wrong, absolutely. I still can't faulthim or anyone else who defends themselves against a dog attack. No matter who the dog belongs to.

I wouldn't give it much thought. He would probably only get a 6 month sentence in england if he stabbed the officer to death.

When it comes to dogs I am a softie. That being said....I would shoot, stab, beat with a brick any dog that was attacking me, my dog, or anybody without thinking twice. If your being attacked by a police dog, you did something special to earn that K9 lovin'.
Ordinarily I'd say that's right. But defecation doth, from time to time, occur.

Just like cops raiding the wrong address, sometimes the wrong person get's K9ed.
