You know most 30-30s and lever guns in general suck and can't hit a pie plate at 100 yards.

My first rifle was a 30-30 marlin no scope 1970 Christmas present from Santa I was 8 years old.went to hunting club that afternoon in Jones county.sit on a gas line with dad. 2 deer came out on the second hill from where we were sitting on the ground..my dad sad lay down on the ground ,and use that bank of dirt to prop on,and bust that one on the right ass.i shot and the deer hit the ground had to be at least 200 yds.i think back and it had to be that 4 pters day to die.the shot hit about 6 inches below head in the neck.

I have had 5 or 6 Marlin 336 levers and they would shoot awesome. I had one when I lived there that easily shot a consistent 1.5 to 2 moa. That one was the most accurate one I have owned. My youngest son loved shooting it. It was very consistent. My first one had a short barrel. It was a Texas carbine and I believe it had a 18 inch barrel maybe shorter. I could throw rocks more accurately than that thing. Looked awesome. Real compact, straight stock and square lever. It was a 50 yard gun at the most and that was testing your off hand skills at that.

To say all of them is a bit much. Only the first one wouldn't hit a pie plate at 100 yards. All the rest would do that easily.

I’ve had 3, first was a 2” gun (younger with iron sights) second was a 1.5” gun with a 3-9 on it. The last one I got will do 1” or slightly under. Could be me shooting better. 2 shots were Nosler 150gr ballistic tips, 3 shot group Hornady 160gr LeverEvolution. Both groups 100yds.

Still about double what is "used to be".
