Yeah, I was using walmart winchester flat points. Might have been the whole issue but this was years ago. I gave up on 30-30s in my 20s. I may have to try again because I love the nostalgia of a lever gun.

You know most 30-30s and lever guns in general suck and can't hit a pie plate at 100 yards.

Does the Rossi 44 function great !
I know some of them need break in and some slicking up to run 100%
After I inherited my uncle's reloading stash I'll never have to buy 30-30, 35rem, 30-06, 270, 38spl, 357mag, 44mag, 458winmag(God only knows why he loaded so many of those) and probably a few others for as long as I live.
His 35 loads are dead on so it'll probably remain my primary deer rifle for life.
458 WinMag......must have been expecting trouble, like Jurassic Park trouble.
Not sure what he was expecting. I shoot that thing once or twice and I'm pretty much done with it.
I have a 1976 marlin 336 that’s very capable of 300 yard accuracy. Probably a 2 MOA, 3 shot groups rifle. Way more accurate then the highly touted AKs and SKSs selling for black market organ level prices.
Same 2” is the Norm for 200 grain corelokts.
I have a 1922 built Marlin model 93 that has to be something because it was made with "Special Smokeless Steel".
