$150 body armor

$150 for a brand-new plate-carrying vest WITH level IIIA (soft) ballistic panels in it.

It's a very fair deal. I wouldn't mind having the IIIA armor to stack with my III+ plates.

All PCs and soft/hard inserts are not created equal. That carrier and the soft armor inserts are made by NcStar. The soft armor, at 1/2 the price of most name brand Dyneema (Dyneema a the registered trademark for "Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene" ballistic material) inserts sold, doesn't seem quite right to me. They may be good......but for $70 more per insert I would stick to known manufacturers of soft armor. The carrier, well there is no $50 carrier that will stand up to hard prolonged use. The weight of the material, grade of the nylon thread used to stitch, lack of bar tacking in the stressed areas all come into play. At the end of the day this PC/Insert comb is worth exactly what you are paying for it. It if fits your needs then it's perfect for you. I just wouldn't expect Eagle/Paraclete or any of the other more known manufacturers type of performance out of it. As always, YMMV.
