I'm cheap and I want centerfire defensive ammo to be reasonably priced, so I go with a 9 mm that lets me practice more often without feeling guilty about the money I'm spending/wasting just for fun.
But what I like about the 357 Sig is that it's a bottleneck pistol round--- meaning the bullet is being shoved towards a hole that is significantly wider than itself as it transitions from the magazine into the chamber.
This has to be a huge bonus for reliable feeding.
