So, I just bought my first 45 can. Currently I only own a Sig 1911 that is not threaded. How do aftermarket and Sig replacement threaded barrels work in normal 1911’s? Spring tuning needed? Would it be better just to pick up another factory threaded 1911 entirely? Links and any advice is welcome.

Sig makes some factory threaded barrels here: https://www.sigsauer.com/store/parts/barrels.html?caliber=432 or you can sometimes find them at gun shows (I found a hard to get factory threaded barrel for a M11-A1 recently). After that, I think if you have the right piston installed in the can then you're good to go.

I bought a Sig scorpion carry 1911 couple years back. Ended up getting a storm lake threaded barrel, just a little fitting on the hood and she locked up nice and tight. I never had any issues running supressed so never needed any tuning of the springs.
