I've had the 7.5" RH and SRH, neither suited me. Was eyeballing the 5.5" when I saw that Ruger was offering the 6.5", has anyone put both in their hands and/or carried?

Love a 5" .44/.45 revolver. Good balance balance between carryability and velocity/recoil taming. My vote's for 5".

I have owned almost every length revolver imaginable and would pick the 5" for ease of one handed shooting, if nothing else, but it is just about perfect length for big bore magnums. Much more versatile, IMO, and still big enough to hunt with and not lose one bit of velocity. Redhawks, and Ruger revolvers in general are heavier than Smith revolvers, so the lighter weight is even more exaggerated with a 5" Ruger.

+1 for 5". Perfect size for a .44.

Another vote for the 5"

Ive owned various length 44 magnums over the years . From the 10.5 SBH to the 4" 629 .

I must admit to being just as accurate with the short barrel as the long.

If I ever get another one it will have less than a 6 inch barrel . Unless it just a steal of a deal :)
