It could be their reaction to normal hunting pressure also. If your two kills were made there that can be a factor as well. A few sits in the same spot can make them wise very quickly.I usually have seen 10 deer by now. They have been cleaning out some woods behind me.. hopefully that didn’t push them away.
Over the yrs I have found that they are usually on a 4 on 4 off pattern except during rut. Browsing 4hrs and bed for 4, if left undisturbed.Weird how I’ll see ten deer one day then nothing the next.
I’ve definitely seen more movement on overcast and cooler evenings.
I’m thinking they’re laying down on the cool ground on the hotter days then running all night.
There’s a nice cool/ shady spot near a natural spring on my back property where they like to bed down on hot days.
I’ve jumped them plenty of times back there mid day.
thats a long bow shotBagged a 6 point off the back deck, about a 200 yard shot. The Latino neighbors didn't like it but if they can skin goats, I can shoot and dress out Deer.
especially coming from a one armed fat man, thats a long bow shot
Good luck !I made it to my hot spot. Seen action every morning here so far. This will be the first evening hunt here.
Squirrels are singing.
Pray for deer.
