I have a company car. And am grateful for that.

But I saw something the other day about electric vehicles that I never thought about before. Not the environmental part, but the practical part.

How many parts are there that make up an electric motor compared to a conventional gas powered engine? Yeah, that's the part that got me thinking an electric vehicle would make sense. No more oil changes, air filter replacements, timing belt replacements, replacing the spark plugs, changing the transmission fluid. All in all, kinda makes sense for a vehicle that you just use around town.

Anyway, I found myself actually contemplating one if I ever have to get a car of my own.

Oh, and from what I understand our current power grid would not be able to absorb the load if everyone switched to an EV overnight. That's another thing to consider.

I'm just excited to see that an architect from the Brutalist school got a job as a car designer. I actually like the look, especially the pickup truck.

I can do 400 miles on a tank in my old 2012 Ford Flex. At 80 mph.
And it only takes me about 10 minutes to refuel for another 400.
How long you gonna sit waiting on that EV to charge back to capacity?
