Adventure Outdoors painted my gun the wrong color. Why I'm upset.

Yea this is crazy. Sounds like you are making baby steps, but man, this should have been corrected weeks ago. Sorry to hear you're still dealing with the headache.

I think I would see if I could just get my gun back as-is at no charge and take it elsewhere. On 6-17 you said they had, had your gun for 4 weeks, it is now 7-2 and they still haven't fixed it. If they are going to have to pay the guy to do it over, you should tell them to just pay for the screw up and let you have the Colt back.

Of course, that's just me, but then I'd never duracoat a Colt 1911 either, or anything else for that matter.

Good Luck

Get your money back. Ask for a refund if they say no, get your gun back then threaten them with a charge back if you paid with credit card. They would rather refund you then face a charge back.

Okay here is the latest update. I received a call from Eric Wallace last week and every time I tried to call him back he would not answer and has not returned my calls. I Have been out of town as usual because of my job and when I got a chance I went to AO today to try to see what has and could be done to resolve the issues.

I went to the costumer service counter and Spoke with Jack Walker. I explained that I had an issue with a Colt 1911 and the gunsmithing. I explained that I received a call from Eric and had not heard back from him. He Explained that Eric was out of the country in Africa and would not be available. He got on the phone and spoke with Jay Wallace. He said the owner of the Colt 1911 that was duracoated incorrectly is here. I know we had a meeting about this, are we still going to take care of this for him? He then hung up the phone and explained that Adventure Outdoors will do everything they can do to make this right.

He explained that the gunsmith is not an employee of AO and that AO would pay for any additional cost to complete the gunsmithing to my satisfaction. At that point Jack escorted me to the gunsmithing counter and examined the 1911, brought the gunsmith out, and we choose a finish. I think Jack was a straight shooter and I hope the results are better than some of the ODT members horror stories.

I do appreciate all the advice and will keep you updated as I get more information.

I'm still hoping for the best man- I'd like to hear that they get it done the way you want it and hopefully do that with minimal headache for ya.

At this point, you should demand your gun back as-is and for no charge. Then take it somewhere else and have it cerakoted for way less than what they charged you for a less durable finish. I can't believe you are still trying to deal with them and they still have your gun.
