Can I carry while I am drinking? I know I'm probably beating a dead horse but a buddy and I are in an argument.

Inaccurate.
You cannot discharge a firearm when drinking unless in defense of life/property. You can carry...even if its not recommended, its legal.
I don't see the issue until you discharge your weapon under the influence 
you can carry in a bar or establishment that serves alcohol as long as you have the owners permission, just like any place if you are asked to leave you have to or you will be trespassing

Well you can but it's going to get you trouble most likely. Although you can still use deadly force even when intoxicated and not be breaking GA law.
My question would be why would you want too? Do you honestly think you can make life and death decisions clearly when you're intoxicated? Same with driving drunk or buzzed. It impairs you judgement and that could cost you a lot if you make a bad decision while partying.

Calhoun cops said they can pull your GWL if you are under the influence with a gun. maybe that's just here.
