This was the first year that I have ever hunted. But d***, I simply don't get it. I went out about 12 times and didn't even see anything the first 9 times. I just don't get it, unless I am simply that terrible at this.

What times were you hunting? How long did you stay out? Were you using the wind? Did you scout beforehand? What type of area were you hunting?
I have been out a bunch this year, which is my first year and havent seen anything either till last thursday, I finally got my first deer. It was a spike but it was an awesome feeling. Dont give up and put in the time, I have sat in the stand ALL day with no luck several days.
Monticello...You live in deer capital area ! maybe a few of us should come down and check it out
