I’m trying to locate a video from Sons Of Liberty Gun Works that they did on staking castle nuts. You should see the hammer they use, looks like Mjolnir.
That was the first thing I thought when I read "delicate process" lol. I pictured Mike with that big ass hammer.
 
Is a tight castle nut gonna twist back out over LOC tite?

Yes it can. All Loctite will do is bind the castle nut to the receiver extension. The receiver extension and the castle nut can still rotate as a unit. You have to lock the castle nut and the receiver end plate together to 100% prevent this rotation.

How did Colt do? Looks like they did it with a flat-blade screwdriver (looks the same in both spots):
