I hear this question about anywhere at anytime!
“Why do you carry a gun in church?”
“Why do you carry a gun at the park?”
“Why do you carry a gun at the store?”
“Why do you carry a gun at…” (ya get the idea)
It’s a simply answer to all of the questions.
“I may have to shoot someone.”
So
“Why do ya carry a gun at home”?
Well, Ya may have to shoot someone.
I’ve seen plenty of videos where having a gun in the house did nothing but get ya killed. Whereas on your person gives ya the tactical advantage just as it does out and about. People often say “I just keep a gun in my vehicle but not on me.”
So…if you are out and about and not in your vehicle it does no good. Someone kicks in your door or what not while ya in living room and ya chilling with family with your pistol up in your bedside safe upstairs or rifle in closet…well it’s probably to late. It’s not “what are the odds of needing it” as much as “what’s at stake if needed” in my opinion. Same with doing yard work, etc. if it’s no encumbrance carrying just carry on.
When I'm home, I open the safe and
bring out my faves to play with.
