You'll know when if yours is one of the crappy ones because your forehead will have marks all over it from spent cases hitting you. You might want to wear a helmet to the range.

I love mine! I've put nearly 1000 rounds through mine without a single problem. It will hit you in the forehead every now and then. I've used the mag that came with it and like four other brands. I think it's like most brands some are flawless some suck. I would carry mine.
