Since Ryan started in ‘08, the Falcons offense has been ranked in the top 10 for points scored 5 times and top 15 9 times. The defense has been ranked in the top 10 3 times and the top 15 6 times. The year of SB loss, offense #1 and defense #29. I would take Ryan again and better defense.
In the Matt Ryan era the Falcons have more 5 game losing streaks than they do playoff wins.
In 2020 the Falcons defense gave up 24 points or fewer in 9 games.....the Falcons went 3-6 in those games. 24 points in an NFL game is usually the threshold for winning and losing. When the defense did its job, Most of the time the Offense came up short.

Ryan gets/got a lot of those yards playing from behind in the 4th qtr. Opposing defense running out the clock and not giving up anything big........Ryans stats are heavily padded with garbage time yards.
The Falcon's lose because they can not protect a lead and " finish " games that they have control of heading into the 4th qtr.
