Run up I-85 cross into SC
Take first exit and go left
The road from walhalla to highlands is awesome
And since it doesn't have it own website like some other roads. It's not covered up with morons on their sport bikes
I've run the walhalla/highlands road on a Sunday morning and not seen a single other vehicle

The nantahala gorge road is nice too

And there's a road just north of Murphy off the 4 lane that runs next to a river
Don't know the name of it though
Lemme look at a map

every road around highlands is awesome and scenic
Especially the county roads
You could then go from highlands to Cashiers , Andrews
And back to hiawassee then over to Helen then to Vogel then to Suches then to dahalonega

You'd be dizzy So I'd reccomend spending the night at Kyllin Tyme cabins in blairsville
If you're anywhere near Clayton
Head up to black rock mtn state park and take the short hike to Tennessee rock

if you're up 575
There's a road that runs east from Tate / Marble hill
That is next to a river

The Cherola skyway outside Andrews NC is nice

Any back road in the n ga mtns or west NC mtns

Go to murphy , hang a left on joe brown hwy then a right on Hanging Dog road and just randomly drive around
Hanging dog eventually dead ends
Then run some of the side roads on your way back to beaver dam road
I can't think of a more beautiful place

There's a campground and cabins
http://www.crawfordscg.com/

You can then take the lovely gravel road the USFS built after they closed and destroyed Tellico off road park
Over to Tellico plains and back around Cherola or twards Cleaveland TN

The road that goes from Cleveland to mineral bluff by the ocoee river is very nice
Just don't drive it on the weekend if the kyackers and rafters are there

Lots of paved county roads that are very scenic

Little river canyon between Rome and ft Payne Alabama is beautiful
