Best Survival Knife

That Gearcraft looks like a sweet carry knife.

If you are planning on using the blade for things like batoning though make sure get a knife with a thick flat spine. Esee, BK&T, Fiddleback Forge, etc.

I like a fine knife as much as anyone but 1 knife is difficult for me to imagine. I am seldom separated from my Tops BOB, Case Trapper, Mora Companion and a Kelly True Temper Flint Edge bouble bit Cedar Axe. If I had to narrow it down to just one it would be the Mora and the Axe.
 
I think a "survival" knife should be pretty big, have an effective saw back, and have the handle and guard / quillion that make it easy to mount it on the end of a long stick to make a spear out of it.
