Cast Iron

I have a Lodge skillet I bought in 1981 and one I just bought last year, also Lodge. They are not the same quality they used to be either.
Some of their stuff is made in China now.

ETA - Someone corrected me on this and I think only their porcelain coated stuff is mostly Chinese, not their old school style stuff.
 
Glasstop ranges probably have scared a lot of people away from cast iron. If you have gas available where you live (I don't) it's probably a better option. I'd be more likely to use cast iron cooking on the porch.
 
bought this pan from Camp Chief last year....have not given it a try as of yet....It's interesting, as it seems to be somewhat

Have a glass top stove and use cast iron…
Don’t drop it and you’re good….
Or as my wife says scratch it and find out???
