I have a Lodge skillet I bought in 1981 and one I just bought last year, also Lodge. They are not the same quality they used to be either.

Some of their stuff is made in China now.

ETA - Someone corrected me on this and I think only their porcelain coated stuff is mostly Chinese, not their old school style stuff.

Glasstop ranges probably have scared a lot of people away from cast iron. If you have gas available where you live (I don't) it's probably a better option. I'd be more likely to use cast iron cooking on the porch.

bought this pan from Camp Chief last year....have not given it a try as of yet....It's interesting, as it seems to be somewhat

"polished'" on the inside...I also liked the handle....

Have a glass top stove and use cast iron…
Don’t drop it and you’re good….
Or as my wife says scratch it and find out???

My EMC does give aways for every annual meeting. This year they did 10 1/2 " Lodge cast iron skillet. Pretty cool.

It's been years since I've used a non-cast iron pot or pan on my stove top.

A 12" Victoria skillet and a ~9 qt Staub dutch oven see the most use.
