I also have my mind set on a specific pistol but want to hear from others as to which gun and why would you chose it. .45 ACP only please.

Personally, I would go with a Kimber Pro Carry II. However, the next Kimber I buy will be the Ultra CDP II.

Springfield 1911, I'm not familiar with all their models but one in that range and maybe a few bucks left for some Wilson combat mags and a nice holster if you arnt already set up for a 1911

FNP .45 or Glock 21/21sf if you want a full size. Glock 30 sf if you want something smaller. Springfield 1911 if you want a beautiful, accurate gun that can anchor a small boat. The Sig (non 1911 style) .45s are nice, too.
