Best $50 you can spend, you get 4 hours of Marksmanship Classroom Instruction then you get to shoot a National Match AR with 50 rounds of match ammo (Rifle and Ammo supplied to you).
SMALL ARMS FIRING SCHOOL & M16 MATCH: This course is recommended for all new competitors and anyone that would like to learn gun safety and sound target shooting skills, regardless of previous experience. In this course you will learn about safety, positions, how to load and clear the rifle, how to loop the sling and prepare for practice and match firing. Rifle SAFS students are required to use the Rock River AR15 commercial rifles issued by the school. Personal rifles are not permitted. Ammunition will be issued for use during practice fire and the M16 EIC Match. Top 10% will earn 4 EIC Points.

Why didn't you post this in June or July?

I would have taken the week off from work!

If anyone goes please post pics!

Sounds like a great time!

I participated Tue, Wed, Thur and drove home Thur evening. They cancelled the Fri M1A Match due to snow but they shot Sat/Sun as scheduled. Wed/Thur was a high of 46, wind was 2-4mph. I dressed for it and was fine, great matches.

I need 4 EIC points for my Distinguisted Rifleman Badge. In the Rifle EIC Match I shot 473-6x, 74 shooters. Top 10% non-distinguished shooters get EIC points, I was 8th, top 7 got EIC pts. The journey continues......

Distinguished Badges are the highest individual awards authorized by the U. S. Government for excellence in marksmanship competition. They are awarded by the CMP in accordance with 36 USC §40722 [3] and by the respective services in accordance with service regulations. The CMP and the military commands responsible for the awarding of Distinguished Badges coordinate their respective badge regulations and the establishment of a master file of Distinguished Badge winners.

Distinguished Badge programs for military personnel are administered by the respective services in accordance with applicable service regulations. Badge programs for civilians are administered by the CMP. The CMP issues Distinguished Badges only to shooters who earn them according to CMP Competition Rules. All Distinguished Badges issued by the CMP are serial numbered and are, without exception, accounted for on an individual badge basis. The name of the recipient, the year the badge was earned and the badge serial number are engraved on the badge.
