Only gun I'm willing to carry with a safety is a 1911 or 2011. The safety on them is super instinctive. When I grip them, my thumb naturally rests on the safety and pushes it down so I don't even need to think about manipulating the safety.

I was just thinking that the 1911 is one pistol I would consider carrying chambered without the thumb safety applied. A proper functioning grip safety along with a good holster would tend to make this a safe yet lethal tool.
