Do you waste ammo shooting paper or steel?

I shoot paper, steel, dirt, and critters. I try to limit my dirt when possible.

I shoot regularly. My accuracy tends to stay consistent no matter how much, or how little I shoot, but the other necessary skills get rusty when I don’t train. My draws, reloads, and overall speed aren’t as quick/smooth if I don’t train. I’d rather be quick and accurate rather than slow and accurate.

As much as anything, I shoot because I enjoy it. It’s my favorite hobby. It’s also something I do with friends and family.

For me, it most definitely is not ammo wasted, it is money well spent.

I also train using Simunitions on “targets” that shoot, move, and communicate.

Also I just felt like being disagreeable today. So don't take anything I say personally. I have much respect for you and your skills. And I'm sure most on here are skilled in their own way.

I will reload 9 as cheap as I can get away with. Wife an I will go down the range and burn through 500 to 1000. After all it is a hobby I enjoy, reloading and shooting.

The questions is do we enjoy our time, yes, yes we do. We (I) enjoy punching holes, watching my wife get more accurate each time.

Yes, I do believe shooting is a loose it our use it skill. I believe in shot placement, not just hitting something.

Have I been shot at, yes I have, did I shoot back, yes I have. I a panic situation, muscle recall is everything.
Just my thoughts, use it or loose it.

I,m still here so that's good, I have told the department I am done May 30th, which is the last re-qualification class I will run. Just looking forward to the M&G on the 20th at Biguns!! Hope you can make it Brother! Thanks for asking and hope your dad is doing well.

i shoot regularly. for me its keeping consistent ( i for sure notice a difference in my handgun groups when i stop for awhile) and honestly its just fun to test myself to see what shots i can make. Most of the time im shooting im shooting with friends anyways so its just having fun and for the most part "accuracy" is can you hit whatever random thing your friend calls out on the range. As far as "what" i shoot, again most of the time its fun blasting with my buddies, so whatever i can find around the house that is no longer of use, books, light bulbs, soda bottles, im not picky
