Epic Road Trip for Kids Spring Break

I was wondering that, needed to look up the laws. Maybe I can take my 10/22 Takedown.

Get familiar with the NY laws: if you don’t stop there’s a clause but you need to understand it.

Under no circumstances would I take children to or thru Philadelphia without having proper personal protective equipment.

That means more than EDC.

Update:

8 Days
3192 miles
14 States
Over 200 yellow cars spotted in the yellow car game.

-I took out the passenger seat in the SUV - gave us much more storage space and allowed me to attend to the kids more.

-I would say they only used screens / electronics half the trip in the car. There was a 10 hour segment driving across NY without using screens at all, and as a reward we saw Sonic 2 that evening at a Drive-in in upstate New York. At the end of the trip there were points where they were saying they didn’t want screen time and would rather play music or do car ride games.

-Interesting to see how adaptable they were. They stopped asking how long it would take to get somewhere (in a whinny way) after the first few days -I had a playlist of educational materials for almost every place we went to. Talked a lot about history, geography and demographic elements of the places we were visiting

-A bunch of different little parenting experiments - One being where I let them eat whatever they wanted one entire day. Of course they ate mostly junk food - by the end of the day all of them had upset stomachs. I used this as an example of how what we eat impacts our body. For the rest of the trip they wanted healthy food/snacks to go along with their treats.

-The weather sucked most of the whole trip as we followed the storm to the Northeast, but they did well. It got much better when we turned west from Portland, ME to Niagara Falls, NY.

-We barely experienced Protland, ME at all, the place I was personally excited about the most. When we got there it was 40 degrees rainy with gail force winds. We went and ate at a local diner that was great - all the locals were impressed we were there, how far we traveled, and how well mannered the kids were acting. We even got a random act of kindness as one of the locals anonymously bought our breakfast - I ordered the market price lobster omelette!

-Diversity of experience I think was a key to keeping him happy and making all the travel enjoyable given the distance we went. I assumed 8, 6, and 4yo wouldn't want to take the time to "smell the roses," and my assumption seemed to be correct
*tent camping, to old motel, to 4 star hotel, to staying at friends house, to staying in the middle of West Virginia
*outdoor activities, historical museums, popular landmarks, natural wonders
*they collectively enjoyed being out and about and didn’t have the patience for most of the detailed historical and museum stuff.

also note the only bad traffic we hit was stand still traffic because of a wreck on 85 near Commerce, an hour away from home, 3100 miles in
