Feds trying to force Apple to unlock Iphones!

If the government can legally force a software engineer to write a new unlocking program, then they can now legally force anyone to do anything.

We're about to cross a whole new line here. From a nation of passive restriction laws, to a nation of active requirement laws.

Instead of, "No, you can't do that." laws...
We will now add "You HAVE to do this" laws.

Except for the military draft, America has never done anything like that before.

Apple has opened phones for the FBI more than 70 times in the past, something stinks here.

They did that in the past on older technology phones that weren't completely encrypted where they could easily bypass the security of the day. Apple didn't feel like they were protecting their customers' privacy, so starting with iPhone 6, the whole device AND operating system is encrypted, and Apple does not keep the unlock keys, so they really can't decrypt it. In this particular case, the phone in question is an iPhone 5c. It does have an encrypted OS on it, but the device does not have the same physical protections of an iPhone 6 or 6S series.

Carson and Rubio skirted around this question last night and stopped short of saying that Apple ahould be forced to comply. Ted Cruz, on the other hand, clearly took the position that Apple should be forced to create the backdoor. He either is pathetically ignorant to current technology or, even worse, knows exactly what he is talking about.
