First time deer hunter advice.

The gun should be in .30-06 caliber,
and belt-fed. Water-cooled is optional.

First time deer hunter advice:

Bring beer. Six for you, and 6 as bait for the deer.
Hunters like Bud and Natty Light.
Deer prefer Guinness. That $%|]'s expensive.
Screw 'em. They get the same Bud you'll drink.

First time deer hunter advice:

Have your phone fully charged
so you can you look at porn
and play online poker while sitting in the stand.
(It gets boring just looking at trees and bushes
and fields for hours at a time.)

I agree with most everything that I have read although I am not a 243 fan. To me I used to go about it like a job and then a guy I worked with pointed out that he’s there to have fun and when it quit being fun he’d quit. Im a little hard headed but over time that has changed things for the better. Number one to me is to enjoy the time.

Find a caliber you like, use quality ammo, get a license, wear orange, good boots,
And enjoy the sport. Nothing like taking a nap outdoors & waking up to
A deer looking at ya. And then BOOM!!! Venison for dinner.
Enjoy brother, the outdoors are awesome!

If you haven't killed/cleaned a deer before, it may be useful to print out any of the many tutorials available online, or download a PDF to your phone. Nobody in my family hunted before me, so I was self-taught. I actually had a printout of how to gut a deer sitting on the floor of the woods next to my first deer. Kinda funny when I think about it, but it was entirely necessary.

Good luck!
YouTube when you can get a signal is my best friend, for anything not just deer hunting.
