I was on the Ga.DNR website today and stumbled on to something I didn`t know about. There is a site on there where you can pull up some of the cases they work each week.It is organized by region, weeks, and counties.Interesting.It`s a larger version of the "Hall of Shame"in the GON magazine.

RABUN COUNTY
Sgt. Steve Seitz, RFC David Webb, and RFC Kevin Dyer heard some rumors about a
person who was bitten by a bear while he was hog hunting somewhere in Rabun County
the week earlier. The officers eventually tracked the information to a hunter who lived in
North Carolina. On February 19th, Sgt. Seitz and RFC Dyer interviewed the victim and
his brother. The victim stated he and his brother were hunting hogs with dogs in the
Dick’s Creek area when his dogs bayed an animal in a thicket. The hunter believed the
animal that was bayed in the thicket was a hog. He released the pit bull catch dog and
walked into the thicket behind the catch dog. When the victim got within about 3 feet of
the animal, he realized the dogs had a bear bayed. The victim stated the bear charged him
and bit him several times on the leg before the dogs were able to get the bear off him and
run it off. The brother of the victim came to his aid and helped him out of the woods. The
victim was taken to the hospital in Hiawassee, GA where he was treated and released
