Glock 43 vs p365 (anyone switch?)

The SIG operators manual says to replace springs at 2500 rounds. It is a $24.00 part, why would you not replace this on a dedicated carry gun? BTW - Glock in Smyrna recommends changing the spring in the G26 at 2500 - 3000 rounds. (It's around $18.00). No doubt some may need replacing sooner and others may run twice that but if you carry the gun then why chance it? It is a good idea to replace recoil springs and swap out old carry ammo religiously.

I had seen glock was 5000 rounds. Maybe that’s the bigger glocks?

I think they vary. Might even vary depending on the armorer you talk to at Glock. Either way a recoil spring is cheap insurance to replace ahead of schedule.

Yeah, ya got me interested so I just called and asked the mothership. They said between 5000-1000 rounds and you should replace. That was including g43 and g26.

10,000 seems like stretching it a bit. I've never looked in the manual to see what it recommends.

Yep made the switch...2 times actually. Both times the P365 failed. First one was middle of last year after the original new updates. Second one was about 2 months or so ago which had updated parts again. First one was solid until the 800 round mark and then things went down hill quick, starting getting all kinds of malfunctions. 2nd one had 4 malfunctions in first 300 rounds and I was out. It would run flawlessly with short round nose ammo but anything that was longer or longer hp ammo it had malfunctions, especially when it was ran hard. My brothers p365 did the exact same thing around the 1,000 round mark. I truly believe it is luck of the draw with these things. Oh and I sent the first one back to sig and still had problems. They also informed me that the recoil springs are only good for 1,500 rounds in the p365...my mouth hit the floor when they said that.

Yeah, something to be said for glock reliability I guess. It does seem kinda like “luck of the draw” at this momen like you said

Ive owned both and and for me its really hard. My first Glock was the 43 and there is just something in the back of my head that wants me to go with the reliable and proven. The 365 is a great piece, shoots so well for its size and I don't have to say much about capacity, truly one of the best combos you can get size to capacity wise.

I keep going back and forth about selling my 365 because yes even though more sub compacts give you some primer drag, looking at some casings on my 365 it does go all the way to the edge and that concerns me a little. Im pretty sure im thinking too much into it. Also I feel I have to relearn shooting all over again because I seem to cant grip the 365 like other carry guns.

Good food for thought thanks

That “XL” on the slide kinda reminds me of “gripzone” on xd pistols. Not a fan of that.
