Goals for 2016-17 Hunting Season

For me, it's just to get out there and learn. I talked about it last season but really started too late. I'm going to make it happen this year. My plan is to hunt West Point WMA with bow (just haven't had time to get down there yet) and Corp property with Shotgun.

Thats a great goal. Hunting creates a lifetime of learning opportunities. I've been chasing deer for over 30 years and learn something new every year. I've met a lot of great hunters and learned a lot from them over the years (RIP Jack, miss you much) and I've learned a lot by sitting and just watching the deer instead of punching a hole in them. They are amazingly entertaining at times.

And this is from a check in hunt on a WMA in North Georgia, I had to hike over a mile to beat the crowds though, and getting it out wasn't an easy job, but well worth it.

Been hunting this season 56 years, doesn't seem that long ago though, really appreciate all my friends who have allowed me to hunt with their guns, ammo, one told me the other day we had the hunting habit and they got the expense, we had a good chuckle about that...

Yep, hunting has been the platform in which some very good friends have been made in life.

I've never had any reason to suspect that you were an older gentleman. Always thought you were a young cat that just happened to be wise beyond his years. Your posts have always been filled with great advice and I look forward to reading your comments anytime you respond in one of my threads.
