Going blind, selling all my guns.

Well not yet anyway. I went to the eye doc to get contacts and come to find out I'm high risk for glaucoma. So they want me to go to a specialist for testing. Pretty bummed and feeling old. I'm only 35, too young for these problems. Yay for crappy genetics. If confirmed I'll be on eye drops the rest of my life like my grandma was.

Open enrollment is coming up at work so I need to apply for eye insurance. Question is, should I wait to get insurance before I make this eye doc appointment? I feel like it would be a problem if I'm diagnosed with glaucoma before hand.

But, on the plus side. Contacts seem to make red dots appear more clear.

Yes, major medical for the opthalmologist. And there are a lot of treatment options to help fix it, mitigate it, or push it off for years.

I have glaucoma diagnosed for about 4 years now and only use the drops when it flares up. Not an expensive ailment to maintain, the insurance will cost you more than the meds and dr visits.

My wife just recently ( like last week) passed the state test for an insurance agent..she said get INSURANCE FIRST and then the appointment. You know preexisting condition and whatnot. On a side note she also said get the gummies or oil with CBD AND THC to keep the pressure down. Down side is you'll fail a drug test if you ever have to take one. But SOME companies don't even bother testing for THC anymore.

Glaucoma stinks at any age, but especially at 35! I'm 58 and have the other "leading cause of blindness": cataracts. Found out about a year and a half ago, and it's developing faster than the doc said it would. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

Maybe you'll get lucky. I've had "borderline glaucoma" for nearly 10 years now. Elevated eye pressure. Went to a specialist for several years before getting fed up. I still get my eyes checked and so far haven't crossed that line yet.

Man the VA told me that shyt and I went to a specialist and they did a real test and said I was fine. I agree you're too young for that.
