Happy 308 Day to Brad Sauve!

Using a .308, Brad set a new National Record of 200-18x at 1000 yards. For those of you that don’t know, that’s 18/20 in a 5 inch circle at 1000 yards.

Side note. At the match that Brad broke the national record, the best F-Open score was 200-14x. Seems the .308 is giving the big Open guns a challenge.

Pretty cool, but this honestly seems like an attainable record, no?
It's 1/2 MOA. 1 MOA @ 1K is pretty common now days. The 18 of 20 is the hardest part, not sure if there is a time limit on that.
A calm day, good reloads, an 80x scope, bench and rear bag, I think this one is worth giving a shot if you have a .308 laying around with a barrel of decent length.
If not easily attainable, at least it's easily accessible to give it a shot.
(there may be some equipment limitations I am not aware of)

I am sure there’s nothing wrong with the .308 but I suspect he could have won with any number of cartridges. Must be a great shooter regardless.
